David Mui
In addition to my professional background, I volunteer at The ECHO Leahy Center, which I believed has helped me grow as an individual as well as refine my ability to work in diverse teams and build meaningful connections. I’m looking for opportunities to bring my skill set into new environments where creativity and growth are at the forefront.

Distorting everyday objects like phones, radios and computers until they lose their familiar shape, prompting us to step away from modern distractions. And in doing so, creating a space that encourages us to return to the roots of human interaction, where sitting around a table, drinking tea, playing games and exchanging ideas becomes a way to reconnect.
Along the Lines
We chose symbols of shared experiences and nostalgic connections as a table and deck of cards. These items, most often overlooked in daily life, speak to moments in time such as family dinners or poker games with friends. The project aimed to celebrate the emotional resonance of these objects while also highlighting the fragility of memory.
Every object was whittled and carved down to create a rustic and modern feel.
The coasters and shelves were stained in ‘early american’ a warmer accent to pair with the rich orange in the copper. While the table face and legs and even the in-lays to the poker box all have signs of similar distortion. These pieces make up a composition in which the focus ...are the people and the games in front of you.
The same feeling we have when we down a few drinks; The warm accents to match the warmth on our face, and the distortion to follow our eyes, as we work to make the night along the lines.
